Of cycling failures, folk festivals and even more podcasting...

Waylaid in (by) the pub last night and, having forgotten the lights for my bike, ended up getting the train from Anniesland to Balloch. Susan, bless her heart, met me a few hundred yards (metres? whit?) down the road from the station, and with one quick bound the bike was in the back of the Toyota and I was wondering if the Lomond Fryer really was the second best chip shop in Scotland. Too late, though. There was pasta ready at the chalet, the ideal sustenance for a trained athlete like myself...
Susan and Martha and her pal Holly had been up (and then down) Conic Hill near Balmaha, and then experienced what Susan said was "the best clootie dumpling ever" in the Oak Tree Inn. This is something which deserves serious investigation, as I am a serious clootie lover. Another time.
Meanwhile, check out the links for news of Jimmy Carlyle's Shetland Folk Festival Podcast, which comes thoroughly recommended, and indeed The Shetland Folk Festival itself, at which young James and I will be performing under the name Johnnie and the Notions. Tingwall Hall is the place to be on the 28th of April.
