The Gaslight Anthem, live with Bruce...

This is The Gaslight Anthem's best song, and it has to be said that Bruce adds not very much to it other than his charisma, dodgy backing vocals and a very competent guitar break. Hell, that's enough! In terms of anointing the inheritors, it's surely significant. And thrilling for all concerned. See it here.

Thing about all this is that he does it without ego. Strummer songs done as genuine tribute rather than some pathetic "tribute" to the likes of Michael Jackson is just one example. He gave Alejandro Escovedo full stage when guesting on a show last tour and gave Brandom Flowers one heck of a chunk of Thunder Road recently, stayed behind at Bonnaroo for a day so he could play with Phish. I question Jon Landua's integrity....bit never Springsteen's!
